The Beach of La Carihuela extends along 2 kilometers. You can rent beach beds and shades. There are also areas on the beach with grass and palm trees. There are nautical areas where you can rent jet skies and pedal boats, etc.

The Beach is cleaned daily and there are lifeguards and Red Cross during the Summer months.

The area is well known for its beach restaurants where you can taste the famous sardine skewers.

The pedestrian street of La Carihuela has all kinds of businesses. Within a radius of 500 meters there are dozens of restaurants of all kinds: fish, meat, specializing in paella, hamburger, Italian, Chinese, etc.

There are several golf courses at an easy distance from La Carihuela, less than 15 minutes by car e.g. Torequebrada Golf, Lauro Golf, or Parador.

There is a sports center about 2 kilometers from La Carihuela. It has various football fields, tennis courts, paddle, basketball, skate park, an olympic-size in-door and outdoor swimming pool, etc.

Numerous events are held there like the Senior European retro-dance championship.

The promenade, from marina at Benalmadena to the Parador golf club, about 12 kilometers along the coast.

There are several playgrounds on the Beach

There is a children's area and an artificial lake with boat rides in the Bateria park

You can make one-day excursions to Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Ronda, Marrocco etc.

The 16th of July is the festival day of La Carihuela. A very emotive procession takes place in honour of the patron of La Carihuela, the Virgen of Carmen. There is small fair in La Carihuela.

There are also processions in Torremolinos in Holy Week.

There are bars and clubs in Puerto Marina, at about 15 minutes walk along the promenade. There are also beach bars with good music and good atmosphere along the promenade of La Carihuela.
